I distinctly remember a Charlie Brown comic with Snoopy sitting next to a (typically crabby) Lucy. Finally, after a few frames, Lucy said 'Why Aren't you a Pony?', and poor Snoopy was next seen on his doghouse roof having an existential crisis.

using the previous comment as a guide, I would like to share my experience of today. Henry and Sky, my two cats are having a conflict over one particularly favored chair for sleeping. Sky claimed that chair years ago as his own and he has a tendency to be possessive of his stuff. Henry wants to use that chair to sleep. a few days ago Henry grabbed the chair early in the evening and Sky had to find another place. after suffering that loss, Sky has made it a point to get that chair early for his nap. this morning I was sitting in a room at the opposite end of the house and Henry came in and jumped in the window then left and came right back to look out the window. he made a questioning sound and left the room again to come right back. he repeated that behavior five or six times. it's really not something I have ever seen him do before. sure enough, his curious behavior caught Sky's attention and he followed Henry into the room and onto the window sill and he relaxed on the sill. Henry disappeared. at that point I became curious myself and I went out to the front room where the coveted chair is and there was Henry, curled up on that chair, looking very satisfied with himself. essentially he was either fibbing, pretending that there was something really interesting out on the lawn or he found something he knew Sky would like and he brought him in to look at it. if I hadn't seen it I wouldn't really believe that a cat could be able to be so capable of creating a ruse so he could get something he wanted.

Last night I went to bed with both hearing aids in...put one in its proper storing case, before turning out the light, but left the other in my ear...and during the night I took it out of my ear and put it under the pillow as I have done many nights...and the first thing I do in the morning is to run my hand under the pillow and retrieve it...

This morning there was nothing to retrieve...

AnnMei sleeps at the foot of my bed, but takes a hike around the bed during the night and ends back in her corner...

After not finding the hearing aid under the pillow, I took the pillows out of the cases, shook them good, off came the sheets, and the bedspread...I felt all the fringe on the edge of the bedspread...pulled the mattress away from the wall, got down on my hands and knees looking under the bed...then later in the morning I took my mop and went around the kitchen and tile areas...Why I don't know...so far from the bedroom, but those floors are clean now..AnnaMei was right beside me while I performed all these searches..

Later in at mid-day, I took the remaining hearing aid out of my ear and showed AnnaMei...let her sniff it and see it...then I took a nap...after my nap I walked thru the main path thru the living room, kind of where I keep her main toy, and in an open area where she knew I'd walk ... and had passed at least a dozen times earlier today THERE WAS MY HEARING AID..if that isn't something to SHOUT about, WHAT IS???

I put the hearing aid in my hand on the floor and gave her treats with the other hand...she understood...

WHAT A CAT...
